Somatics
Second Thursdays of the Month are Embodiment Yoga Somatics
Great for beginners and advanced practitioners and those that desire openness of body, destressing, releasing tensions, and connecting deeper to your sense of self, strengthening the mind-body connection (Embodiment). Like our yoga classes, we will open the door to the mind-body connection (the experience of mind and body as one: using breath, asana, and presence).
Invite more space into your body, mind and heart with this yoga class. Embodiment Yoga Somatics gives you the opportunity to gain a sense of physical restoration. You can expect the use of bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps during this mostly floor-based practice. Guided movement meditation, body relaxation scans, and yoga nidra may be woven in.
This 90-minute class will focus on Somatics - which is to say we will practice interoception, and build on sensations coming from inside.
This practice is informed by Hanna Somatics and supports re-awakening your brain and body connection by bringing increased awareness and mobility to your body with intentional movement patterns. Somatics helps free tight muscles, and invites them to increase their potential. Blended with stabilizing and grounding classic yoga postures, this class offers you new and novel subtle movement patterns to explore.
Ali Zuba is an Experienced Yoga Teacher (eRYT-500) Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) specializing in SomaYoga methodology which weaves Somatics and Classic Yoga Postures into a restorative class for body, mind, and spirit.
