These activities will be accessible to All Levels — those that are brand new to meditation and long-time practitioners.
Activities will include traditional activities like chanting (mantra vocalization) & pranayama (breathwork). A mantra is a sacred utterance, a numinous sound, a syllable, word or phonemes, or group of words. Mantra recitation is a powerful way to utilize sound at various levels in repetition to release subtle vibrations and suggestions to the self and cosmos. Pranayama is the practice of focusing on the breath which is associated with our life force. Different mantras and pranayama techniques manifest healing, strength, calm and balance. In these sessions we will explore various prasiddha mantras (safe and gifted to all to use) and gentle pranayama breath techniques to assist the mind to focus, the body to relax, and the spirit to shine. Gentle movements may also be incorporated to warm and calm the body for seated meditation.
This is a donation based Community Workshop. Any donation amount (including zero) will be accepted as entry. If you want to help these types of offerings remain available to the community and have the means you may donate more than the class value amount to "pay it forward" to those who may not have as stable means to pay for yoga.
